Introducing Our Hamilton Team
Ian Howat - Manager
Consultant
on Maori land and historical research. Ian spent ten years in Land Registries in Auckland,
Dunedin and Hamilton (administration officer, assistant land registrar,
assistant registrar of companies). Ian also worked for fourteen years in charge of agency practice
of McCaw Lewis Chapman solicitors of Hamilton and has been the manager of HLS since 1981.
Way Lee Yee - Accountant (ACCM, ACIS)
Way Lee started with us in May
1999.

Christine Gavin - Consultancy and Registration Team Leader
Christine brings to our firm 16 years experience in the South Auckland land registry. During her time at LINZ Christine progressed through the ranks to quality control coordinator / help desk technical advisor. She was also responsible for the training of staff in technical matters.
Having been part of the evolution of LINZ, Christine has first hand knowledge of the recent changes implemented in LINZ and how these changes have impacted on land registration.
Christine left LINZ and started with us in December 2003, keen for a new challenge and to use her knowledge in a new direction.
Christine is one of our consultants specialising in subdivisional matters. Christine also drafts documents and advises clients on registration and depositing plans.
Ron Donnelly - Consultant
Ron has had a wide and varied working career which includes 10 years as a legal executive, 9 years as a Crown legal clerk and 9 years in the South Auckland land registry as an assistant land registrar and later as a quality assurance officer.
Ron started with us in August 1998 and is one of our consultants involved with plan deposits, drafting documents, subdivisional requirements, Maori land, and historical research.
Lyn Taylor LLB - Consultant
Lyn worked in the Hamilton
Companies office for 4 years and then progressed on to the Official
Assignees office where she worked for 12 years administering bankrupt
estates and company liquidations. During this time she also completed
her Law degree at the University of Waikato.
Lyn began working at LINZ as a property rights analyst in 2002
undertaking all types of registration work including subdivisional
issues.
Lyn started work with us in 2004 as a consultant dealing with a
number of tasks including advising clients in registration and subdivisional matters, plan deposits and drafting documents.
Paul McLennan - Consultant
Paul
has years of experience working with LINZ on Crown property administration,
mapping, examination of survey plans, land status investigations, Local
Government, Public Works and Reserves Act investigations, arranging leases and
easements, preparation of Gazette notices and Waikato Rauputu claims.
Paul had further experience working for Crown Property Accredited Suppliers as a nominated person (all legislation – proclamation and gazette preparation and signing, Public Works Act – acquisitions, disposals, repurchases, and Treaty of Waitangi Claim Settlements). Then experience as Property/Legalisation Officer with a District Council before joining us as a consultant in June 2005 dealing with subdivisional, Maori land, title/plan research, and Resource Management, Public Works, and Reserves Act matters.
Paul holds NZ Certificate in Survey Draughting.
Jocelyn Waine - Consultant
Land Transfer Registration. Jocelyn has worked with us for 13 years.
Gayle Goudswaard - PA for Consultancy and Registration Team
Gayle has worked with us for 8 years.
Gayle is PA for the consultancy section and primarily maintains the consultancy files. Gayle is also a registration facilitator and is responsible for notifying clients of plan approvals.
Shirley Jurgens - Search Team Leader
Shirley is experienced in all facets of land transfer searching. Shirley worked for 20 years in the Department of Lands and Survey and then LINZ as a customer services officer.
Shirley also deals with Personal Property Security Register (PPSR) and companies office searches and registration.
Matthew Zanders - Search Facilitator
Matthew joined us in February 2005 and is a member of our search team.
